Our research also covers a number of their more mature portfolio companies in greater detail:

Harris & Harris Update January 9 2012 - Includes a closer look at two of the four new H&H portfolio companies: HzO and Senova Systems. HzO is pioneering a nanocoatings technology for electronic devices and other applications. There is a large, untapped market opportunity for HzO to offer con-sumers protection for their electronics against water and moister damage. ZAGG is an investor in the company and its marketing prowess and established presence in the consumer electronics market makes for a potent partnership with HzO. Senova Systems is bringing an innovative, nano-enabled technology for measuring pH to the market that has the ability to be very disruptive.

Harris & Harris Initial Coverage Report January 2011 - Our initial report on Harris & Harris focuses on the entire nanotechnology industry and the H&H company model. Subsequent reports go into individual portfolio companies in greater detail but this initial report is the best introduction to the overall segments of the portfolio and the major themes within each.

Individual Company Profiles:

Nanosys Private Company Report – November 2011 - Nanosys was the poster child for nanotechnology and suffered from the premature hype surrounding the technology. The company even filed for an IPO well before it was ready. But years later the company has continued to develop and move a range of technologies into commercialization. Our IV analysis suggests Nanosys could reach a valuation of $700M in 2012.

Laser Light Engines June 2011 - Inadequate brightness is a major obstacle for the cinema industry to deliver more vivid films. Laser Light Engines can deliver laser-based lighting to replace the current light bulbs and usher in new age of highly performant and much more efficient projectors. Better quality at lower cost will drive adoption and unit volumes will bring down price points.

Metabolon Private Company Profile May 2011 - Medical diagnostics have been a major part of the healthcare industry but have tended to use a very basic and broad approach. Today most of the innovations in diagnostics are in areas of increasing specificity and personalization. By using small molecules and superior analysis technology it’s possible to understand the physiology of cells.
